@DesignSecultd@RoadSafetyWales@GoSafeCymru The NFA.
They can't even be bothered to write coherent sentences.
The driver was about 80 and had no idea I was there. Luckily,the car behind was alert too. I'd have been fine with her going up the road but across me and over the pavement ๐ณ
Should have been at least a course.
@2wheelsgoodBrum@DesignSecultd@GoSafeCymru@gwentpolice@swpolice@ian_m_greenwood Indeed. There seems to be no national lead on this. The fact that action is a post code lottery is not acceptable.
I'm fine with a course for a 1st offence,unless it's particularly close or there are other factors. It's not vexatious. All we want are safer roads.
@DesignSecultd@2wheelsgoodBrum@GoSafeCymru@gwentpolice@swpolice@ian_m_greenwood I had two <0.6m close passes on Friday I've not yet submitted. Both had the easy choice to use the other lane as lights meant it was completely free. Both chose not to. I'm assuming they'll be NFA'd with the usual pass-agg patronising narrative.
@jemmm85517813 So, if other people find a fundamental and simple skill easy and you don't, what have we learned? Or is it that you really just want to drive faster?
@transannoyer@let_part@ChaponaBike123@snevinoj 2/2 Bad cycling frustrates good cyclists but seems to trigger some drivers to an anti-cyclist mindset. Eliminating bad cycling would have a tiny impact on KSI figures;bad driving,huge.Not anti-drivers,anti bad drivers.
@transannoyer@let_part@ChaponaBike123@snevinoj I'm trying to be balanced,aiming for roads where ppl are treated with respect,driving responsibly to test standard. I drive approx 35k miles pa and only cycle a handful of times.
Granted,some cyclists are idiots,as are some drivers. Only one of these kill ppl on a daily basis 1/2
@transannoyer@let_part@ChaponaBike123@snevinoj The cyclist wasn't performing a manoeuvre they were continuing in their lane and spotted the large gap the bus had to pull back over. The bus driver chose to push through when they had an obvious opportunity to stop or slow. They had ample time to see and do this.
@transannoyer@let_part@ChaponaBike123@snevinoj The cyclist would've been clearly visible in the 1st image and was committed in the 2nd. The bus driver should have seen the cyclist and pulled back over.
@transannoyer@let_part@ChaponaBike123@snevinoj More than aware of commitment, I've previously mentioned the term. Point is that the bus chose to continue past a large gap & opportunity to pull back over to their own side of the road. As I've also said,if there were more cars to the left of the bus,they'd have priority.
@transannoyer@let_part@ChaponaBike123@snevinoj If there was a further line of vehicles from that point, you'd obviously be quite correct, but there wasn't and the bus had the opportunity and should have pulled in.
A reasonable barometer is always to ask how that would be viewed in a driving test scenario.
