Good morning Church!
โI thank you that you have answered me and have become my salvation. The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone. This is the LORDโs doing; it is marvelous in our eyes. This is the day that the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.โ Psalm 118: 21-24
@PhoenixHayes_@golfnpreacher@Mashimaro77@MikeWingerii And new Christians may very well download it thinking it's a real translation and be deceived. It is -- at best -- an attempt to twist God's word to fit prosperity gospel and other modern indulgence sellers. At the very least, we have a responsibility to keep talking about it.
@Tilden7Michael@MikeWingerii The problem is new believers will stumble upon it, thinking theyโre reading a faithful translation of Godโs word, but itโs really just a modern version of Gnosticism. That alone is a good reason to keep taking about its problems.
@golfnpreacher@Mashimaro77@MikeWingerii But I certainly have the right to not shop there, and the right to tell other people why I don't. If my church started pushing prosperity gospel or selling indulgences, I would have a moral obligation to leave and let people know why.
@amitylee13 I was done with it during the mortgage crisis and the massive TARP bailout back in the George W Bush days. Nothing they've done since, with regards to fiscal responsibility, has changed my mind on that.
People are asking me if Iโve turned into an election denier in the last 24 hours.
I still believe the Too Big to Rig strategy and crushing the will of spoilers works.
But, we are well beyond that in LA.
We are up against a well-funded operation that has been perfected over multiple cycles, in a City with no political will or manpower to build a competing system.
But thatโs not even the main problem, even if we had the will, money, and people to do it (which we would have had Spencer made the runoff).
The main problem is they donโt play by the rules. Or if they do, theyโve bent the rules so far that the โrulesโ are just an illusion.
They can register anyone, to anywhere, and vote for them with or without their consent, without a process with any guardrails to prevent it, and without a paper trail to prove it.
Thatโs the issue.
I see it now.
@amitylee13@MattS270@LPNational@Republicans My guess is only Boomers and Gen Xers knew what GOP meant. I can't imagine many people under about 45 or thereabouts know what it stands for.
My church has a fellowship breakfast this morning, and I'm really looking forward to it. Firstly, for the fellowship, but secondly, when we break into men's and women's fellowship, our pastor brings great theology lessons. God is good!
