A vote against the For The People Act is a vote against the rights of Black and Brown voters. Period.
If made into law, it would expand:
👉Early voting
👉Automatic voter registration
👉Vote by mail
And finally make Election Day a federal holiday.

So let me get this straight: Legislation to restore the Voting Rights Act has been sitting on McConnell’s desk for months — and he will directly benefit from his state allocating just one polling place for 616,000 predominantly Black voters?

I don’t know how anyone who descends from immigrants,
I don’t know how anyone who claims to be Christian,
I don’t know how anyone who claims to be pro-Life,
I don’t know how anyone who is a parent,
I don’t know how anyone with a heart,
Can defend denying soap & blankets to kids.
For context, this kicks in within days of a typical at-home test working.
If you were sexually assaulted (stress delays cycle), took a morning-after pill (throws off cycle), or have an irregular cycle, you‘d have no idea.
There are a TON of ways this law ignores basic biology.
“6 weeks pregnant” = 2 weeks late on your period.
Most of the men writing these bills don’t know the first thing about a woman’s body outside of the things they want from it. It’s relatively common for a woman to have a late period + not be pregnant.
So this is a backdoor ban.
