@you_there_boy But every so often there are some oddball names that are delightful. Example: i have a direct ancestor named Onesiphorous Marsh. I’m thinking, oh, did the whole family get weird Old Testament names, but then I look: his siblings are John, Thomas, Elizabeth, etc. Ouch.

@you_there_boy Amen, my friend. I was a genealogy hobbyist for 20+ years. Hobbyists are the lifeblood of the field. Ancestral naming practices and oddities always fascinate me. I see lots of families like you describe, everyone with the same 5 traditional names...
