▶️ Stressed that the situation in the West Bank and East Jerusalem remains concerning amid the continuous settlement expansion and settler violence.
▶️ Highlighted the paramount importance of preserving and respecting the historic and legal Status Quo of the Holy Sites in Jerusalem.
▶️ Underlined the need to address the severe humanitarian and economic challenges facing the Palestinian population, including through the immediate release of withheld Palestinian tax revenues.
▶️ Reiterated its support for a credible political horizon, based on the two-state solution, allowing Palestinians and Israelis to live side by side in peace and security

A UNSC Arria-formula meeting on safeguarding education in Sudan was organized today by @SomaliaatUN and co-sponsored by @LibMissionUN and the @RDCongoONU , where Greece stressed that protecting education is an investment in peace, recovery and stability in #Sudan.
As attacks against schools continue and education remains severely disrupted, schools must never become military targets. Every child deserves to learn in safety and dignity.

At today’s #UNSC meeting on the situation in South Sudan, Greece:
▶️ called on all parties to engage in genuine dialogue and help create a conducive political environment for credible, peaceful and inclusive general #elections, while fully implementing the Revitalized Peace Agreement.
▶️ underscored that #children must never pay the price of conflict and condemned the continued grave violations against children, calling on all parties to end such violations and comply with their obligations under international humanitarian law and international human rights law
▶️ highlighted the dire #humanitarian situation while calling for safe, rapid and unimpeded humanitarian access to those most in need

“The Security Council members convened today, 5 August 2026, to discuss the humanitarian situation in Sudan.
The members of the Security Council expressed concern at the humanitarian situation in the country. They called for the protection of civilians and urged all parties to comply with their obligations under international humanitarian law.
They underlined the importance of continued and sustained humanitarian support and the facilitation of humanitarian access to all populations in need, in line with the humanitarian principles of independence, impartiality, neutrality and humanity.
The members of the Security Council reaffirmed their commitment to the sovereignty, independence, unity and territorial integrity of Sudan”.

✅ #UNSC unanimously renewed the sanctions regime of the 2745 Committee, related to the Central African Republic, for another year.
ℹ️The Committee’s Panel of Experts mandate has also been renewed through August 2027.
