Ant benefits from a Safety Car, his teammate retires from P1, and he inherits the win: “Luck is part of racing.”
Rus finishes P2 at Silverstone despite being slower on the straights than every other Mercedes-powered car and suffering a puncture: “Pure luck. He didn’t deserve it.”
Ant insists on staying out with a damaged car even after the team tells him to retire, putting other drivers at risk if something had gone wrong: “What an incredible fighting spirit. So inspiring.”
Rus lifts for a single yellow as required by the regulations and only pushes again once the track goes green: “As GPDA director, he doesn’t care about drivers’ safety. Shameful.”
Ant wins: “A 19-year-old genius. The next Senna.”
Rus wins: “Cheating engine. FIAMG.”
I'd said during the Race, George's deficit no longer seems to be on Hangar straight but on Hamilton straight.
And this was generally correct.
George STILL had his Glitches though, so how did he get faster?
Simple:
He adapted to 𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝟖𝐭𝐡 𝐠𝐞𝐚𝐫.
Driver saved the day.
George’s post race interview:
“The performance wasn’t good enough, and if I’m being brutally honest… I’m not gonna fight for a championship if the performances continue like that, so I’m not coming away from this weekend satisfied”
