1. Don't play the woman card. You were not criticized for your gender, but for your choice of clothes in an ad. You are bringing gender into this to make it a women's issue and seek wider support from women and male feminists. It's not a gender issue. Even Ranveer Singh was criticized on Twitter for a nude photoshoot. He didn't play the gender card.

2. Personal choice stops where public commercialization begins. What you wear off-camera is entirely your prerogative. You've been in this business for years. Until now, nobody bothered you about your choice of clothes. You know why? Because nobody actually cares what you wear. The outrage here comes from a commercial choice: sexualizing a deeply sacred festival celebrated by millions. Context dictates appropriateness. If a male actor appeared bare-chested while portraying the brother in that exact scene, the public pushback would be identical. The issue is sacredness and context, not gender.

3. Claiming "clothes don't define culture" directly contradicts human history. Attire is a foundational visual language of every global tradition, you cannot wear a Kimono and call it Indian ethnic wear, nor can you strip a festival of its sacred aesthetic without altering its significance. If attire truly has zero bearing on cultural respect, then tomorrow is Eid. Can you wear that exact same outfit you wore in that ad and wish Eid Mubarak? You said clothes don't define the respect you have for culture in your heart. So do it and we'll take our criticism back.

Respecting a tradition means honoring its context, not commodifying it under the guise of fashion.

You wouldn’t dress for Eid the same way you dress for a nightclub. You wouldn’t dress for Christmas the same way you dress for a beach holiday. You wouldn’t wear Halloween attire to a traditional wedding.

There is a reason we dress differently for Holi, Diwali, weddings and religious festivals. Clothing, food, sweets and traditions are all shaped by the occasion.

The issue isn’t “telling women what to wear.” The issue is whether what is being promoted is appropriate for the occasion.

Wear whatever you want in your personal life or films. That’s your choice.

But when you participate in a festival rooted in tradition, showing some sensitivity toward the occasion isn’t oppression.

#Awarapan [2007], the first instalment, has developed a cult status over the years... Matching those expectations is no easy task, especially since the magic created by #EmraanHashmi, director #MohitSuri, and #VisheshFilms remains strong to date.

What stands out most about #Awarapan2 is Shivam's story – this time, his bond with a child takes centre stage... The narrative takes a completely different path, with action pieces generously sprinkled across the proceedings.

The film starts off very well, with the child-trafficking issue clearly spelt out right at the outset... However, as it progresses, the narrative deviates into several sub-plots that could have been avoided.

Director #NitinKakkar shoulders a tremendous responsibility and, to his credit, handles several sequences smartly:
⭐ The car chase on the streets of #Bangkok at the very start;
⭐ The backstory of Disha, Anirudh Rawal, and Puran Gabbi's parents;
⭐ The finale.

Additionally, he smartly incorporates flashes from the first part, leveraging the recall value and nostalgia factor... These moments seamlessly connect the two films while giving fans a sense of familiarity.

Writers #BilalSiddiqui and #VisheshBhatt ensure that the backbone of the story – #ShivamPandit – remains the focal point... The writers also know when to hold back and when to hit hard, resulting in several sequences that genuinely stay with you.

#EmraanHashmi is superb as Shivam... He brings vulnerability, intensity, and a lived-in quality to the character, making Shivam's journey deeply affecting... This is one of the most compelling performances of his filmography.

#DishaPatani delivers a sincere and emotionally charged performance, while #ShabanaAzmi deserved more screen time, with some punch-packed sequences that match her talent.

#PuranGabbi, as the antagonist, is effective, but goes overboard at places... #AniruddhRawal enacts his part with conviction... #SurendarVicky and #VijayantKohli lend able support.

The music of #Awarapan2 is a definite plus, although comparisons with the first part are inevitable.

⭐ Final word? An outstanding #EmraanHashmi performance and an out-and-out massy narrative make #Awarapan2 stand out... THERE'S NO STOPPING THIS ONE AT THE BOXOFFICE.
