I just remembered one of the best things some of my friends did for my 30th birthday this year. Every day for two straight weeks, they were gathering virtually to pray for me for two hours daily.

They covered 30+ hours of prayer, intercession and thanksgiving for my life and new decade.

One of those days, they fixed the prayer time for 5 am in the morning. It was tough as I am not an early riser. In fact, I didn't think people would join. But I joined and to my shock, people actually joined that early to pray for me. It wasn't the only 5 am prayer for me, by the way.

I genuinely believe those kind people have prayed out my decade. And I will not be shocked when things I didn't even pray or plan for begin happening for me. The prayers of saints have already gone ahead of me ♥️

When I speak of autonomy, this is what comes to mind — clear, deliberate ownership of one’s own life and path. This man owned the suffering and the work to get out of it, and advocated for himself when it mattered.

Having agency isn’t only being able to say ‘no’.
