@Grey1371@RySchramm@Bg_chngs_Amng_s You’re not explaining why that would be an issue tho. In the biopic example it fails at being a faithful depiction of true events. In your Batman example you just end up with a kickass re-imagining of Batman. Let’s grant that it’s a bad adaptation; why does it matter?
@IndiBayo@LanceRanises_@RySchramm@Bg_chngs_Amng_s It’s not a weird whim but it is a somewhat juvenile desire. Using an established IP to tell an original story isn’t anything new, there’s no reason to get upset when it doesn’t meet certain arbitrary criteria
@ScarletWebhead@RySchramm@Bg_chngs_Amng_s But why does it matter? For decades now creatives have been using comics to tell original stories within a widely understood framework. Why should this project *need* to be anything other than a good show?
@RySchramm@Bg_chngs_Amng_s The “reasonable expectation” you’re describing is arbitrarily defined, a project can draw inspiration from source material in any number of ways. Who are you to determine which ways are valid? No reason it shouldn’t be judged on its own merits rather than adherence to source
@RySchramm@Bg_chngs_Amng_s I’ve never seen a moment of this show but why do you care if it’s a “good adaptation” or not? For argument’s sake let’s grant that it’s a good show, can you articulate what difference it makes?
@thelovelyfall Genuinely how can you see this “review” as anything other than overly harsh. The only mention of the music is the throwaway line about the production. Reads like someone who went into the album with a bone to pick and a refusal to engage w the music on its own merits
