@Miss_McF It also won’t help that our subjects are all over the place, lacking in relevance and direction. Pupils can pick up on this and that might impact their decision to come and teach the subject!

@MissPrasher I’d say that’s a great plan. I think it’ll really help! We’ve looked into it but just wanted to make sure we had a solid plan to make the use of them worthwhile and make the time investment worth it. Cheers!

A couple of the first S2 device holders going home! Pupils designed a solution to hold any device of their choice, from aluminium & Plywood. Excellent work all round 🌟

@TorrensMiss Love a wee project like this! If you don’t use it already, T-cut for polishing cars gives acrylic an insanely nice finish on the edge 🙂

@MissPrasher Yeah I’d agree strongly on that. Personalisation and true design are very different!

@MissPrasher We have 1 woodwork project in S2 (coin holder) than focuses purely on advanced practical woodworking skills, with very little design. The pupils personalise it by laser cutting the front of their plastic. It’s by far the favourite project out of all and 90%+ get taken home!

@MissPrasher Agree, but I also feel that ‘personalisation’ as I call it has it’s place. Not every pupil, especially younger, has the ability to truly design their work. Sometimes the chance of adding their own spin on a project using the laser cutter is a great incentive!

@MissPrasher So you will have all pupils in, regardless of whether they can access the work from home or not? Just trying to build up a picture of what’s going on in different regions/schools 🙂

@MissPrasher Understand for WW, but we don’t deliver that. We already had started MW, so kids continuing with that. D&M kids in to finish models they had previously started (no time or scope to start new final model) Seen a number of departments rotating weeks to see all pupils! 🤔

@MissPrasher Absolutely. I just hope it’s semi fair though! I’ve seen departments bringing every single pupil in, and also using this time to start assignments. Others, including us, being steered completely clear of this! 🤷🏻‍♂️
