I love that students are still making statements, still walking out, still talking about this - when it feels everyone, everything has “moved on” I’m glad to see this. Not because it materially changes any realities for Palestinians (and Lebanese, Iranians, etc) but because it forces everyone who witnesses it to remember the on-going, unending crimes of our country against entire peoples.

This is some amazing modern artwork by a very talented Indigenous artist named John Isaiah Pepion of the Piikuni Blackfeet Nation in Montana. His style is known as ledger art and was originally popular amongst Native American artists from Plains tribes in the 1800s. Beautiful!

*Los Príncipes Mexicas* imagines two young noblemen embracing within the sacred precinct of Tenochtitlan. Queer people have always existed, yet so much of our history remains fragmented, hidden, or erased. Through paintings like this one, I explore what love, desire, and tenderness might have looked like in Indigenous Mexico before colonization.
