@Stillmanator I don’t think it is stupid from Trossard. He didn’t realize it was a foul until after he kicked the ball away. It is milliseconds and he needs to clear the ball away. He’s not going to think about the yellow before kicking the ball away.

@arseblog Then there are other stupid rules which make it even more difficult. If a player on a yellow asks for a yellow for an opposition by wagging his hand and the ref misses it. Does VAR interfere?

@arseblog Implementing VAR checks for second yellows is going to be tricky.
First, if we look at VAR’s impact in terms of stoppages, every foul that is committed by a player on yellow would need a stoppage. Still okay, because there won’t be too many here.

@arseblog Does the second yellow depend on the first? What if the first was not a yellow? Does it need to be taken off then? What about the 50 minutes the player played with a yellow that wasn’t correct? Then we are in the territory of looking into first yellows as well.

@arseblog Clubs asking for 5 substitutions usually aren't making the allotted 3 until the game is in the bag anyway. If a game is up for grabs, even a concerned manager is not willing to sub an important player. That's where I find it unfair.
