A flash piece on grief, growing up and the importance of masks (in a world with bats but no Batman). Inspired by a conversation with Author Praba Ram about her lovely new book, Down by the Mangroves.

Some thoughts on what it means to make a movie "based on true events", and how people might process that statement. Apropos #Dhurandhar2
One of the more inventive promos I've seen in a while, and one that barely mentioned the upcoming film. They built on a viral moment on a talk show, added a healthy dose of self-deprecation and references to Aamir's own films (the AAA reference is lovely). Very smart.
HILARIOUS 😂 😃 😄 😁
@WhoSunilGrover on a roll. No one can take a joke on himself better than Aamir Khan ...

I typed PTA's name and my phone autocorrected to Peak Thomas Anderson. Even it knows that what he's managed here is a masterwork. https://t.co/94JLJT233I
Hey @TATAAIGIndia, when I buy a travel insurance policy from you while booking a plane ticket, you're supposed to send me an email with the policy document, right? My wife got it from a Tata AIG email account when she booked her ticket. I didn't! Why is that?
Furthermore, why does your customer service staff say it is the job of @airindia to provide me with the policy document if I booked on their app? You're the insurer, and I would assume you have, in some form, details of every policy you have issued. Kinda worrying that you don't!
Thoughts on F1, which delivers an absolute spectacle backed by mostly solid, but not deep, writing. Worth a trek to the nearest Imax theater.

@Mareeswj@moviemavengal@kathyfgibson The man truly understands masala filmmaking. Just having Prabhas reveal himself as a warrior would've sufficed for 99 directors out of 100. But he sets up the multiple arrow thing beforehand and gives us that little visual flourish as a payoff.
@Mareeswj@NirmeshMehta @srini_r_twit @_Drunkenmunk@J_A_F_B I walked out of Vidhu Vinod Chopra's Kareeb -- it wasn't as bad as many of the films I've sat through, but it bored the crap out of me. I also walked of Aavesham at the interval and watched the rest of it on OTT. For some reason, the film left me cold.

Just posted my review of Rifle Club, perhaps the most fun a bunch of serious Malayalam filmmakers and actors have had this year.
