Nahhh forget the Athletic Development stuff, let's get them playing in tournaments every weekend...that will work out in the long run!
A study published in the child health journal Acta Paediatrica looked at how strong a group of 315 Essex ten-year-olds were in 2008 compared to 309 children of the same age back in 1998. The researchers found that the number of sit-ups ten-year-olds could do declined by 27.1 percent. Arm strength fell by 26 percent and grip strength by 7 percent. While one in twenty children in 1998 could not hold their own weight when hanging from wall bars, one in ten could not do so in 2008 (Campbell 2011).
(Balanced and Barefoot)
Interesting:
High prey speeds result in high capture probabilities because the prey cannot accelerate forwards with or without turning, making its tactics highly predictable.
Slow moving prey has a wide variety of escape options and hence is less predictable! 🤔 🐆🏃♂️

The 2023 Jesuit Dallas baseball season concluded today as the Rangers fell to Denton Guyer in game three of the Region I-6A Quarterfinals. Congratulations to the Rangers on an amazing season, which included the program's first area championship since 2016!
You’ll come across 100 teenage athletes that do too much skill work before you come across 1 that is “too strong.”
I’m not saying don’t do skill work, but the majority of teenagers could get away from the ball a little and closer to the barbell to elevate their game.
