25 Years after the beginning of the War on Terror, GSF remembers the men that the world forgot. Survivors of Guantanamo prison are struggling to rebuild their lives after enduring years of torture and abuse, and now find themselves in strange and hostile countries.

Humanity lost a fierce advocate as @ClareDalyMEP Daly lost her seat in the EUP. Her courage and active voice on behalf of humanity won't be silenced by this setback. Thank you, Clare, for being our relentless champion. Your fight continues! #ThankYouClare #VoiceOfHumanity

As a project of American post-9/11 empire building, Abu Ghraib and the torture of prisoners there should be viewed through the lens of carceral imperialism.

ICYMI, last Thursday after 8 days of jury deliberations in the Al-Shimari v. CACI trial, the Judge declared a mistrial because a uninamous verdict could not be reached. The suit brought by @theCCR on behalf of three #AbuGhraib survivors for the #torture they endured at the prison's "hard site," as a result of a conspiracy between the civilian interrogators and military police who were instructed to "soften up" prisoners for interrogation.

#Guantanamo Bay prison must be closed and we should also robustly challenge how the Islamophobic discourse surrounding Guantanamo has perpetuated a narrative of unequivocal guilt, even after the men have been transferred. @Dr_Maha_Hilal in @thedailybeast
