"Mohamad Fazli Mohamad Salleh said the state is open to either an Autonomous Rapid Transit (ART) or Light Rail Transit (LRT) system, but stressed that a decision must be made and implementation must begin no later than early next year"
Why not ETS and Buses?
What do we know about Penang LRT
Project cost RM17b ~ no details on cost breakdown ie interest during construction, land acquisition, various fees/overheads and contingencies.
Ridership ~ vague with various numbers
BCR ,financials and funding ~ nothing
We’re a mature nation~ time to act our age.
For every Mega Project, Gov must at minimum disclose:
• Total cost+breakdown
• Projected ridership
• Benefit–Cost Ratio
• Cashflow projections
• Funding structure (equity/loans) + OPEX & farebox recovery
MPs ~ push for this
Mega projects and trade deals should rely less on words and political narratives — and more on data and cost–benefit analysis.
Let’s make every billion ringgit decision evidence-based, not emotion-based.
The amount of hype about SMR #nuclear development seems to grow at inverse proportion to the likelihood of real #SMR deployment.

Many Chinese cities have extensive rail networks and high ridership — without needing a Circle Line.
Meanwhile, Klang Valley, with just 27 km of rail per million people and low ridership per km, treats MRT3 like a matter of life and death.
Mobility or Construction+Property?
“We need to fundamentally rethink urban mobility,” he added. “Commuting in our cities should not be limited to cars. It must also include walking, cycling, micromobility, and barrier-free access. Only then can our transport systems truly meet the needs of the people.”
Our public healthcare runs on general taxation—but taxes are just 12.2% GDP&debt service eats up 15% of revenue.
There’s little left for doctors, nurses + opex
Let’s fix this: a 1% salary contribution + 3% from employers can build a Universal Health Fund—so care doesn’t collapse
6/6
But the worse ~ nobody is accountable for this huge mess
And MRTCo is still pushing for MRT3 ~ RM50 billion investment for 180,000 daily ridership
We need a better Minister of Transport
BYD founded in 1995 , twelve years after Proton.
BYD sold 4 million cars whilst Proton less than 200,000.
We should forget about the car industry lah.
Go for something else
Our problem is everything we rely on "foreigners" e.g. MAHB,JS-SEZ,FDI
Geely make big $$ on Lotus
So pls provide the full final detailed report of Penang LRT ~ cost including sea-bridge,land acquisition,IDC and economic as well as financial evaluations
The same goes for MRT3,HSR,Shah Alam Stadium,Selangor Maritime Gateway
Full transparency with facts& data not just talk

MRT3 is nonsense
Numbers do not jive
There are better solutions
Unless the objective is to waste RM50b on MegaProjects
And ignore our needs for more hospitals, better education facilities, green energy....
