Most extensive renovation done in 8 years, 50mm deep solid tine with 18mm tines. The work required to backfill and the disruption to the surface was something i had forgotten just how painful it is. I cant understand why more people arent trying to grow less grass
@garvoca73 @asianturfgrass With the OM246, the numbers at the lower depths seem to hit a natural equilibrium and stabilise. The top 10mm or 20mm is where the most change takes place in short periods of time. Sarel rolling allowed us incorporate more sand into this dynamic zone.
@buckleyeoghan We used sarrel rollers that fit into the thatchaway cassettes and then operate on a triplex. The holes stayed open really well. We did 2 passes before sanding the 2 after the sand was applied
4 direction sarrel roll with 8mm tines impacts 8% of the surface. At a depth of 15mm, its treating the most dynamic part of the organic matter accumulation. Know where you issue exists and treat accordingly. One of the huge benefits of #OM246 testing
@asianturfgrass Totally agree and i find real value in doing it in conjunction with accumulated growth potential. This has given me a better understanding of variation in growth from one season to the next
@DirtyBulk@MattSha20619144 @asianturfgrass Thank you. I feel its a key piece of information when making vmc comparisons. Certainly with a TDR, 15% @38mm is quite a differnt reading to 15% @75 or 120mm
@ukgolfguy@TurfgrassZealot I dont recall talk of a bunker. All details were meticulously planned and considered so the rough area will have good justification.
@GCM_Magazine@GCSAA I would like too see a wetting agent study comparing vmc at different depths in the profile which would demonstrate aproducts ability to move water through. I did a small scale study on 2 products and found the information very useful
@ct_turf Timing of application, frequency and form of Nitrogen. There is so much to find interesting about it. For me, the relationship of N to the other nutrients was a game changer. Establishing site specific ratios has been a significant factor in our turf quality
