Come and listen to Indigenous Educators across BC talking about Indigenous education! Such important conversations. Don't miss out! https://t.co/aryzL0MdTz
“What does it mean for a child to come to school and know that they are loved?” asks Kevin Lamoureux. How do we create spaces in our schools where kids can celebrate their Indigeneity? #bced#trusteeacademy
1/3 Today is the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women. Violence against women and girls remains one of the most widespread human rights violations in the world. For Indigenous #WGT2SGD people, violence is even more prevalent.
2/3 Indigenous women and girls who live in Canada are six times more likely than non-Indigenous women to be victims of homicide. They're also three times more likely to experience violence and sexual assault.
ITS NOVEMBER! And a perfect day for a BRAND NEW Five Moore Minute video! AND a perfect time of year to remind ourselves that WE CAN DO HARD THINGS!

Even with our support it’s possible she’ll fail the audit because of a missing piece of id that she hasn’t needed in 18 years.
So I ask policy makers: Whose lived experience are you NOT considering when creating policy?
What barriers are there?
What failsafes are in place?
When policy is created without diverse experiences/voices the barriers that are created can be daunting & harmful.
Case in point. My aunt has been selected for @CityofVancouver Vacancy Tax Credit Audit.
My mum’s stress level is through the roof. She’s called city hall repeatedly and been told nothing can be done.
Here’s the thing. My aunt has us to support her and this isn’t the first time we’ve had to advocate for her.
What about people who don’t have anyone-what do they do?
Today is #IndigenousVeteransDay, a day to recognize the Indigenous veterans that courageously fought to protect our land and families. We honour and remember their many contributions.
I want to leave Matthew Perry’s own words here as the way we remember him. There will never be another like him- he lit up so many hearts in so many ways. Godspeed to Paradise!
I’ve been sick & exhausted for weeks now-not COVID. If I stop moving then it’s almost impossible to start moving again so I don’t stop until I’ve space & time. Today I’m trying hard not to do anything on my to do list & not worry about the repercussions.
It’s so hard.
With the noms coming in, I want to highlight this story. Read @HarrisonMooney's book!
Cut from his mother: Invisible Boy tells the story of a Black boy growing up in a white B.C. household https://t.co/9sb7H4u9Qe via @VancouverSun
Many students with IEPs feel like they are lacking and/or are not good enough. How many don’t reach for their dreams?
When we action the words that everyone has strengths & should have the opportunity to flourish & grow strong, it looks like this.
Thanks @tweetsomemoore
If I am going to show a video about a seed packet, I also better show you a seed packet! Made BY THE STUDENTS, they are great way to start the IEP process centering students and their families.
