@Paul_WeedSmart Most Central Qld grain farmers with self-mulching clay soils used a blade plough (typically Flex-King or Copper-field) in the 80’s and 90’s, to retain crop stubble on the surface when controlling weeds. Rarely used now in our zero-till controlled traffic farming system.
@TimNeale1 John was certainly a shaker and mover in Central Qld farming from the late 70’s for several decades. Had a quiet way about him, was highly respected, and participated in a lot RD&E. Condolences.
@bogandillan A couple of weeks ago you predicted this might happen. Unfortunately you were right! Let’s hope the weather clears until after harvest. All the best.
@bogandillan@JM_Minogue@theGRDC Congratulations on a fantastic stint with GRDC John. The grains industry in the Nth region, and no doubt nationally, has benefited from your wise input and great leadership. Thanks for your support in my time on the Nth Panel. Good luck attending to those neglected farm jobs.
📢 Attention Aussie Grain Growers: be part of the conversation at GRDC’s online roundtables.
We need more growers to come forward and have their say to help shape grains RD&E investment.

@BSChauhan76@PaulMacAHRI_PUL Thought so. It is prominent in well-managed CQ open downs native grass pastures, is highly desired by graziers. Disappeared under heavy grazing or if ploughed for cropping. Don’t recall it being hard to kill with gly when on rare occasions it occurs in fallows.
