@ESPNcricinfo Ponting led a very strong team to defeat in the 2006 ashes against an (on paper!) inferior England side. Hardly the stuff of captaincy legend. Not even the best Aussie skipper imho - Border and Waugh better in the modern era. Certainly out-captained by Vaughan.
