Also, can you envision some big name schools willing to be mid-pack a year by keeping the spend down in order to bankroll the next year for a shot. Possible bring in freshman, use a year to develop then surround with portal players?
@gwizzy12@brianneubert. Thoughts on viability of $10M+ rosters year over year? Understand if the conference and school NCAA Tournament,TV contract and home game revenue are supporting it but I am having difficulty seeing NIL keeping that pace up long term, thoughts?
@brianneubert during the game Braden seemed to hurt his ankle or knee. Not long after he went to bench and never returned. Any word post game on his health?
@brianneubert@GoldandBlackcom I have watched probable 95% of Purdue basketball games every year since 1988. I love seeing the maturation of freshman to senior playing for the same team. I figure it will be hard rooting for a new set of players each and every year. More continuity in NBA now, dang.
@brianneubert@GoldandBlackcom How far does the NCAA have to deteriorate before the fan bases get fed up and stop watching games on TV, stop selling out arenas, stop buying school gear? I fear that the only way we get back the college basketball game and structure that I love is when money stops pouring in.
@BoilerInTexas 100% against this. If they continue to set no limits on eligibility, portal, NIL we can’t consider this a college game any longer. Just call it semi-pro with throwback college names. I’ve watched Purdue basketball since 1984 rarely missing a game. But this is too much..
@BoilerMuse Paint needs to figure out how to keep Smith and TKR both will be high dollar expenses. Hope Purdue NIL has enough $$$ to keep them and bring in a quality transfer.
