Gaza is under bombardment right now. We don’t understand what is happening here. The bombing is literally everywhere.
The aircraft are flying extremely low, making terrifying sounds that are impossible to describe.
Don’t stop talking about Gaza. Don’t let the world become numb to what is happening here.

Three years of genocide,
and still I feel guilty for being alive;
as though the gravest mistake of my life
were to have survived Gaza.
I sleep in safety,
while my mother lies beneath the bombardment;
between us, a telephone
carries the sound of danger to me,
but cannot carry my hand to her.
I hate this world.
It lectures us on the right to life,
then bargains over a loaf of bread for my mother;
it climbs upon the rubble of our homes
to stand taller in the photograph,
all this blood beneath its feet,
all this innocence upon its tongue.
I’m avoiding the timeline, avoiding the memories. Nothing hurts quite like the memories of Gaza.
Since this morning, I’ve felt as though my heart itself is under bombardment.
I’m leaving the internet until the end of the week. I need some silence—some distance from everything that keeps taking me back there!
Three years into Israel's genocide in Gaza, the newly launched Gaza Genocide Center is building a permanent, verified record of it, starting with testimonies from survivors.
Its first, recorded in Gaza, is from Somaia El-Swerki. On Dec. 2, 2023, when she was 19, an Israeli airstrike destroyed her family's home in Gaza City. She lay trapped beneath the rubble for 21 days. Her mother died beside her on the seventh day. It's the first in a series of survivor accounts.
The center is led by historian @JehadAbusalim, who is originally from Deir el-Balah and is a PhD candidate in History and Hebrew and Judaic Studies at New York University.

Civil Defence responder Mohammed Toumas was killed moments ago.
In this video, he was mourning one of his fallen colleagues. Today, he joins him.
This is how the Israeli occupation continues to kill those who spend their lives trying to pull others from beneath the rubble.
May Mohammed and his colleagues rest in peace.
Today is the second anniversary of the martyrdom of the 19-year-old photojournalist Hassan Hamad who was assassinated and reduced to some pieces of flesh in an Israeli airstrike after he received multiple death threats.
Hassan is one of Gaza's youngest journalists.
Mercenaries linked to the CJNG have been spotted in Ukrainian forests.
In the video, one of the fighters says “Puro Chapiza y puro Cartel Jalisco,” a chant praising the CJNG and Los Chapitos, their allies.
Reports have circulated for some time that cartels are sending men to Ukraine to gain combat experience, with survivors then returning to fight their rivals at home.
