At 40, do not give up on your life.
This is the age where many people quietly surrender, not openly, not dramatically, but slowly. They wake up, go to work, return home, repeat the cycle, and call it living. The dreams they once had are no longer spoken about. The risks they once wanted to take are now replaced with fear. Life becomes routine, and routine slowly becomes a prison.
At 40, you may look around and feel like time has moved faster than you expected. You start measuring your life against what you thought it would be. Some plans worked. Many did not. And somewhere inside, a voice may begin to whisper, “maybe this is all there is”.
That voice is dangerous.
Because the truth is, 40 is not the end of your story. It is the age where seeing finally arrives. You now understand things you did not understand at 25. You see people more clearly. You recognize mistakes faster. You know what matters and what does not.
The real tragedy is not being lost at 40, it is deciding to stop trying at 40.
Some people give up not because they cannot continue, but because they are tired of starting again. They are tired of failure, tired of disappointment, tired of hoping. So they settle into a life that looks stable on the outside but feels empty on the inside.
You still have time.
Use this phase to rebuild your finances, restore your health, mend broken relationships, learn new skills, and step into the person you once believed you could become.
Number 40 means ‘Transition’. So it is not the age to give up, it is the age to become honest with yourself.
Because one day you will be 60, looking back at 40, and realizing you were not old, you were just tired.
And if you are not careful, that tiredness can quietly turn into a life you never truly lived.
FIND YOUR LANE, WIN YOUR RACE
The "dullest" guy in my department graduated with an ordinary pass. Today, he travels abroad with his family like it's nothing.
Before final year, he knew books weren't his thing. So instead of forcing it, he pivoted, started selling products and went into farming. By the time we graduated, he had bought a car. The same guy everyone mocked became everyone's "guy."
Here's the lesson: knowing your strength early saves you years of frustration.
Too many people waste their lives chasing someone else's dream. You force yourself into a 9-5 because "that's what graduates do,"
You've got the degree. The job isn't coming. Now what?
Are you going to sit there hoping for a miracle while time slips away? Or will you turn your strength into income?
What can you do? What are you naturally good at?
Everyone is born with something. The question is: have you discovered yours?
Stop following blueprints that weren't designed for you. Find your lane. Work your strength. Win your race.
Have a prosperous weekend!
