“guard isn’t important” “guard shouldn’t be part of the marching band”
we are the emotional connection to the music. we are what allow the crowd to hear what the words can’t say. don’t tell us we aren’t important.
why is there a spike in sports shows in marching band/indoor this year? I can appreciate the skill and training of the performers but I hate watching shows about other sports.
i was showing my mom (she lived out of state) one of our winter performances and it was on our stippled rifle tosses and she pointed to me and was like “who is that?? they were super sharp!” ;)
i love luxury sabres as much as the next guardie, but spinning Kings and Excaliburs is so much harder than a Zinc Coated Samurai. Spot me still buying an Excalibur though.
so our instructor doesn’t let us wear gloves in competition, he doesn’t really see much use in them at a high school level. however, i still own a pair and i want to spin in the cold. and i only need the right glove, but i can’t even seem to find that one
i need to get something off my chest real quick and most people probably won’t like it. but it is absolutely so frustrating when people don’t practice by themselves at home. not only is that just ridiculous but it is part of what you signed on for.
