King Memnon of Aethiopia was in the Trojan war and was killed by Achilles in a duel. He arrived at the war with his Aethiopian army to save Troy after Hector was slain
Atheiopia was a descriptive term for all of sub-Saharan Africa at the time
Homer describes the war as a global event with participants hailing from all over the world, specifically saying they spoke multiple languages
Troy itself was an Anatolian trading hub
The Odyssey can be adapted into a space movie and it would still be relevant. Adaptations is how we honor those works and the lessons within them
You are a small small man who views life from a lense that cheapens it
This really is one of the craziest instances of the domino effect in movie history.
After wrapping Tenet, Robert Pattinson gifted Christopher Nolan a book of Robert J. Oppenheimer’s speeches. This is what led to Nolan deciding to make Oppenheimer years later. That movie ended up becoming one of his most successful projects and broke multiple records, resulting in his first Oscar win as Best Director and Best Picture. Had Pattinson never gifted him that we wouldn’t have gotten Oppenheimer. Nolan also said that Oppenheimer’s success was the reason he was even given the opportunity by studios to make The Odyssey.
Pretty crazy to think how much that little gift ended up meaning to Nolan, and is the reason we got TWO of his best movies. I’m sure that’s also why he casted Pattinson in The Odyssey because he’s quite literally the reason why the movie exists.
@diisco2000@BestofthebestR7@DxTCinema@bigmonkeong After the black hole scene the entire movie falls off, the quality of the writing, cgi, editing, everything.. the only thing not affected was Johnny, he was the only consistent part of the film.
@spdrmemoir@itsgaruna@HeitorCR25 Batman is not a 7/10 carried by visuals, it dwarfs every avengers movie besides civil war (maybe) and only comes anywhere near being below homecoming and potentially BND (which is looking to be amazing)
@mongoosefb@itsgaruna@HeitorCR25 Never moved the goalpost, it’s literally the same argument. Where is this hype for doomsday or secret wars? I haven’t seen any. Brand new day has the most hype of the year and I mentioned that
@mongoosefb@itsgaruna@HeitorCR25 Where did I say that. Hype≠money. Marvel fans will shill out multiple hundreds-thousands for mid, outside of the Sony films 80% of mcu has been slop for the last 10 years
@itsgaruna@HeitorCR25 Dc fans made Superman make more money than fantastic four. Dc fans actually watch the tv shows that progress the universe forwards. Dc fans made The Batman $772million dollars. Dc fans get quality over quantity. Marvel doesn't do that. And idk how old you are but “💀” is lame
