Decided to stop bothering my friends who don’t care about danmei and make a twitter to shout into the void with instead.
Some current faves:
Qian Qiu
Erha
Panguan
Devil Venerable Also Wants to Know
Tian Ya Ke
The way this chapter went from big emotional scene immediately to Xie Jiulou’s breeding kink… Finally getting laid for the first time in his life and he’s not here to play around
@da_sh1xiong YEAH that would be so many volumes. Erha is their current longest and what, about 1 million words? And that one is 4 million… So we’d be looking at 30-40 volumes minimum in English, which I can’t see making much financial sense for licensing
Really funny to me how the reactions to the Seven Seas licenses are like: “OMG Faraway Wanderers!” “OMG First-Class Lawyer!” And then… “Look carefully because that one *isn’t* Welcome to the Nightmare Live”
@tianxiuimmortal I would assume just the first one since otherwise it goes from 400k characters to 1.5 million (and growing since the author seems to be currently writing a fifth part??) Which does make it seem like an odd choice to license. Hopefully it at least ends with a satisfying conclusion
@da_sh1xiong That was also the first thing I did haha. Can’t call it deceptive since it really is the book’s title but I have a feeling they’ll be getting at least a few more sales from people who don’t realize
Tian Ya Ke finally licensed?? Finally I am freed from the…choices the fan translation made and can actually recommend it to people. (Assuming they do a good job. Which isn’t guaranteed (rip Shangxian) so I really hope they do.)
Granted, she didn’t do it consistently, I last went at like ten years old, and it was a Japanese temple so half the time they were speaking Japanese (which I did not understand) anyway, so it’s not like it was a particularly promising environment to absorb from
