@KalistiQuix@JarodRiggio@zunzetrider aND iN mY dAy wE wAlKeD FIVE MILES tHrOuGh sNoW uPhILl BoTh WaYs jesus christ can you at least acknowledge that most people don't WANT to live like that? How else are you going to feel superior if everyone is also shitting in buckets?
@KalistiQuix@JarodRiggio@zunzetrider "That nice" girl it is CONDEMNED 😮💨 It's on stilts because the ground shifts and floods so the wood is obviously cracked to hell. You'd have to pay for the demolition, hauling of hazardous material, AND a new housing project. Owner is obviously hoping a sucker like you'd buy it
@KalistiQuix@JarodRiggio@zunzetrider There are No Roads Into Town. You can only get here by boat or plane. If you live within two hours driving distance to a friggin walmart you are very much still on the grid 🙄 I grew up in Kwethluk which didn't have running water until 2014
@KalistiQuix@JarodRiggio@zunzetrider Can you be more specific? I live in in the middle of nowhere. My options look like this: No paved road, external plumming so your water and sewage is delivered/taken away by truck and is prone to freeze, built in 1901, broken railing all mine on sale for only 149,900
@SocietyQueen999 A stubborn response to colonialism, I guess? I'm Native n I don't want my bloodline or culture to die; plus I genuinely love my nieces & nephews, kids are beautiful little messes.
@anymanfitness Aight. Introducing: a house built on stilts because the ground shifts, water is both expensive and has to be delivered weekly because it isn't on the pipe system, gravel road, in rural Alaska where nobody but off-gridders want to live. Built in 1901. Foreclosed.
