Holiday gatherings of family and friends give parents a special chance to teach their daughters an empowering lesson: you don't owe anyone your physical affection. Here's why it's so valuable to let kids choose who they hug. https://t.co/tDENfOA8rk
Talking to PreK about consent.
"Ms Allie, Billy tried to give me a hug without asking."
"Friends, stop what you are doing, I have a question. What do you need to do before you give a friend a hug?"
All my PreK students:"Ask."
"Yes and if they say no you say OK."
"OK."
@msblackteach ‘Don't let her hurt you...Say "I don't think I want those teeth so close to me" or "Clawing hurts me. You can be mad, but you can't claw me."...But don't set yourself up to get hurt, which isn't good for either of you.’ https://t.co/FdvXgLbmu3
90 books friends - and no good excuses not to read them with your kids. There is something for everyone and some really amazing additions to this annual list. Grandad’s Camper, My Sister Sam, and Pride Puppy are my new favorites!! #lgbtq#kidlit
