The implication you (n the post) are trying to make is that physicists just “invented” something new so the model wouldn’t fail. Dark matter is physicists saying it failed

@CobGreat @Henkhansbertjan @OrwellNGoode Your misunderstanding is that dark matter is a theory of any kind. Dark matter is an intentionally ambiguous term to refer to the fact that the standard model and gravity as currently understood cannot explain galaxies hanging together
