@Mikel_Jollett I agree but what is scary is that his gains - though small in scale - were so broad. All geographic areas, all demographic blocks. He pulled people into his tent from across the board when the conventional wisdom said that he had a very hard ceiling of support at around 47%.

Treating them as a monolith was a mistake.

@kelly_carlin @SteveSchmidtSES Thinking about my parents, too. They were conservative but both despised Trump. I’m glad they didn’t live to see what’s become of our country. They were both good people who knew right from wrong and raised me accordingly. I know they would be ashamed of what we’ve become.

@catturd2 Many states have mandatory recounts when the margin is particularly thin, as it would be in a swing state. I guess the people who wrote that legislation were trying to make sure that we get it right in those tight races and no mistakes are made. But you knew that, didn’t you?
