@ikadakchai The US is so awful thousands and thousands of Indians are here illegally, also Mexicans (about 15% of their population?), Haitians, Chinese, on and on and on. These flows are all one way, but yep. We're collapsing. It's awful.
@TalbertSwan Rittenhouse was running away and being chased by an armed mob and was shot at before he returned fire. That is wildly different than what Anthony did.
@Read_Meee Assuming any of this happened (which it didn't - also ICE agents don't need a warrant to enter a business to affect an arrest), people with "green cards" don't have "work papers." Lawful permanent residents can work with the green card just like citizens.
@ChronicSomeone@davenewworld_2 No country can force another to accept any person, not even their own people. So here you go again inventing things. I have no idea whether any Australians are being held for immigration issues. It wouldn't surprise me, but so what? Are you claiming they are being mistreated?
@Omowale99949437@ExhaustedFan28@grok This just leaves a Strickland challenge, which is also unlikely to succeed because defense counsel prepared and presented a case. Sometimes your client is just guilty; also strategic decisions about how to try the case are entrusted to the attorney.
@Omowale99949437@ExhaustedFan28@grok The defense objected to the strikes on Batson grounds and the court overruled the objection finding the State had race neutral reasons for the strikes. Factual findings are generally undisturbed on appeal. This is the first I've heard of an error on self-defense instructions.
@Omowale99949437@ExhaustedFan28@grok Any collateral attack in federal court is also unlikely to succeed because of AEDPA. It effectively bars federal courts from second guessing state courts on their interpretation of applicable law.
@Omowale99949437@ExhaustedFan28@grok No evidence was presented that Metcalf was armed with a weapon, made any threats, or otherwise presented a physical threat. There was testimony that Metcalf said he did not want to get into a fight at a track meet. It is unlikely he is granted a new trial on either ground.
@Omowale99949437@ExhaustedFan28@grok Texas self defense law is clear - a person may use deadly force to defend himself against what he reasonably perceives to be a threat of force that could cause death or grave bodily harm. In other words, the response must be reasonably proportional to the threat.
@ChronicSomeone@davenewworld_2 So, nothing. Got it. If you don't have any facts or a link to facts, mind your own business. Did you run out of problems in your own country? Same goes for the Canadians on this thread. Fix your own house first, then come tell me how stupid and corrupt we all are here.
@maddenifico This from the disgraced liar who spread a lie and fake documents to try to defeat George Bush. He got fired for what he did. Maybe everyone has forgotten.
@CjRobertsonJr2@SholaMos1 The only person armed was Anthony, which was against school and stadium rules. He wasn't being threatened. He was told to leave, he decided to call everyone in the tent a p**** and said "touch me and see what happens" with his hand in his bag. Facts matter.
@RealTimBlack@SupremeILL_ Do you have a single example where a white person was on trial for killing a black person and a large, loud group of white people outside the courthouse chanted "the only good [racist epithet] is a dead [racist epithet]?" Just one will suffice.
@arianajasmine__ How'd all the other Somalis get in the US? There is one elected to Congress. It will be news to her that she wasn't allowed into the country and became a citizen because she's Somali.
Just making stuff up over there.
@ChronicSomeone@davenewworld_2 What do these two things have to do with each other? You claimed, apparently without evidence, that specific things happened in a detention facility. You can't name the detention facility or say where it is or provide any details of your allegation that these things happened.
@TaeJunKim10@TheGasStovee@T_Mac303 You really should read the text of the Amendment. There is no grant of authority to make their own laws BECAUSE THAT POWER PREDATES THE CONSTITUTION. The states make their own laws not because the federal government "lets" them. They make their own laws because they are sovereign
