@Peston I think if we produced more deep-lying playmakers in midfield, along with defenders capable of building from the back to a high standard, we'd stand a much better chance of controlling possession. We don't need to become Spain, but a bit more of that would make a big difference.
@James1940 The closer analogy is with Trump derangement. People ask, โHow did a well-educated nation like Germany ever descend into this?โ Yet the same ideological hysteria can be seen in those who have convinced themselves that Trump is Hitler. You've been ideologically captured.
@JoshFerme It's just pretentious bollocks. Make it feel like another era, even if it's not historically perfect. That's the whole point. We want to escape into another world, not watch modern people acting like themselves while wearing swords and sandals.
@Suffragent_ And I bet if they calculated how much revenue the men's and women's singles each generated over the course of the tournament, the men's singles would be generating significantly more.
@TRobinsonNewEra I bet they'll call it a mental health crisis to avoid acknowledging it was politically motivated. By this type of logic, you could explain away almost any act of violence by pointing to the perpetrator's mental health.
@Jwiesel13 None of the USA players are the sort of players that the biggest clubs in the world, the top Premier League sides, Real Madrid, Barcelona, PSG and Bayern, are all after, so what do you expect? The US has a handful of second-rate players and a squad full of third-rate players.
