@Nucks1968@seyerpa Except he didn’t do anything wrong with Tocchet. Rick just loved PDG more. Podz put up 26pt as a rookie under green playing 13m/gm.
Toch he was only avg 10m/gm
EDM gave him opportunity and a longer leash and hes succeeded. Player development is not toch’s strong suit
@ThomasDrance@White3D64197 But we both know. that’s too broad of a playbook was it just a GSC that rebuild equals success 2/3 of the NHL falls into that criteria. We also both know that nothing about JB’s time was planned as a strategy for rebuilding, our standings was a default for his failures
@ThomasDrance@White3D64197 In order to be consistent, you would need a defined exact criteria of what meets a rebuild.
-High draft picks
-Accumulating draft capital
-Not trading draft capital
Etc
I think after doing that, most people will realize very few teams meet the criteria. for the “model” rebuild
@ThomasDrance@White3D64197 That only works if you leave the definition of rebuild extremely broad.
If simply landing elite players through high draft picks is considered a rebuild then we’d have to concede that Jim Benning rebuilt.
@elmo8834@NHLConnoisseur@BenoitForHart Again you’re selling hoping.
Only 6 players in NHL history put up over 70 points as an 18 year old. Crosby is the only 18 year old in last 20 years to do so. He’s not in the category. Celebrini who had better NCAA production only put up 61 points. Bring it back down to reality
@danriccio_ You don’t trade AM34 arz American buddy to appeal to him staying. This is a sign he’s gone and chyka is thinking short term to win now. He was also sort of forced to as their pick is unprotected this year.
@elmo8834@NHLConnoisseur@BenoitForHart I’ll be happy if McKenna puts up 45 points. Starting him on PP2 isn’t gonna help.
Cowan accomplish nothing. 21 year old Robertson put up higher p/gp.
You’re trying to sell hope. Reality is, this move is a sign that AM34 is gone next year and chyka is think short term
@elmo8834@NHLConnoisseur@BenoitForHart Tavares is 36 is when you typically see a big drop. We’ve already seen his 2 way game & speed drop over the last two years.
Nylander was a 98 point & AM34 was a 69 goal scorer. Marner was a 90+ point player, none of those players exist anymore
That team was stack with talent.
@elmo8834@NHLConnoisseur@BenoitForHart Tavares is 36
McKenna is an 18 yr old rookie.
Cowan put up 29 pts last year.
Matthews is bitten by the health bug & coming off the worst point total of his career.
Prime AM34, Nylander Marner, vet Tavares, Bertuzzi and rookie knies was miles better than what you quoted.
@VancouverCup Debrusk has such low iq. Hes an offensive killer. As soon as the puck is on his stick or you expect him to win a battle the play is lost. Karlsson should replace him in the PP.
@BluelineBardown Clearly, this is rage bait. But being in great shape doesn’t mean also being the fastest on the ice. Twins always crushed testing, but they ever were also extremely slow.
@ThomasDrance Sure doesn’t help when your linemate is only at a 2.5% shooting percentage 5v5. I hope with a somewhat healthy Chytil we’ve seen the last of a Jake/EP combo.
@Pete___Hughes@Pettergoat40 This clown doesn’t even realize that “this time last year” James Hagens was already drafted 7th OA by Bruins. He was a 2025 prospect, not a 2026 one hahaha
@Nntarno555@Pete___Hughes@LassStats@NathanGraviteh The funny thing is his profile claimed yesterday he had 20+ years. Somehow he was a pro scout at 16 years old, all while playing “as he claims” up to junior level in hockey.
His math ain’t mathing.
