It is literally going to be the deciding factor of the fate of the KTCC or the larger TamilNadu state's economy in the next two decades and there is no other option unless the potential growth story is accepted to be compromised 😞

Would request @TRBRajaa & other opp. political peers - that all opposition parties take this up as a united front to convince the present government about the importance of this project and stand behind it till the project moves forward to execution.

This will also give confidence to the present govt. with all parties backing the decision and to not delay it further ! 🤞🏽it is do or die subject for the state !

Chennai is a textbook example of this. It has taken the govt 2.5 years to "beautify" a simple 1 km stretch of road called the Khader Nawas khan road. 2.5 years for 1 km.

The TN govt simply cannot even envision projects at scale , let alone execute it.

The only e-way in TN, the Chennai Bangalore e-way will be 80% ready in a few months. Only the stretch in TN? Delayed. Why? Because tneb has not moved high tension power lines and the state govt could not supply the contractors with sufficient building material.

Things like cooum river clean up remain in the realms of rhetoric!

CLEANLINESS & COLLECTIVE CIVIC SENSE IS CRIMINAL IN CHENNAI

Following a recent visit to Bangalore after an eight-month period, a significant and concerning disparity in cleanliness and urban management was observed when comparing the core areas of the two metropolitan cities.

This post highlights serious deficiencies in Chennai that require immediate attention from authorities and residents alike:

1. The chronic Epidemic of Posters:

The monstrosity of posters and banners across Chennai is egregious, leading to severe visual blight and civic decay.

In the core areas of Bengaluru (e.g., Corporation, Cubbon Park, Jayanagar, Mayo Hall, Richmond Circle, Rajaji Nagar), the presence of illegal outdoor publicity is minimal.

In Chennai, however, virtually every public structure not limited to metro pillars, flyovers, medians, and transformer barricades,is extensively covered by posters for political figures, films, and tributes which really is nauseating and makes the city ugly.

This indicates a failure of enforcement by authorities and a disturbing lack of civic consciousness among residents, compromising the city's aesthetic and historical integrity.

2. Infrastructure Deficiencies

The quality of roads, footpaths, and signage in core areas and suburbs in Chennai is highly dismal, contrasting sharply with better-maintained core areas in Bengaluru.

Excluding small, well-maintained zones like Marina Beach Road, Chennai's road network is often characterised by poor paving and inadequate maintenance.

Functional footpaths are largely non-existent, forcing pedestrians onto vehicular roadways and creating significant safety hazards.

This suggests an urgent need for the Tamil Nadu Government and Corporation contractors to elevate the standard of public infrastructure services.

3. Subpar Sanitation and Waste Management

Chennai's overall cleanliness is significantly shitty, leading to unpleasant and unsanitary public spaces.
Many suburban areas are plagued by the pervasive odour of sewage and urine, particularly near commercial establishments.

Observations show poor adherence to waste management protocols:

a. Sanitation workers often lack training in segregating wet and dry waste.
b. Rubbish often spills from collection buggies due to lack of covering or overfilling.
c. Large community bins and collection lorries are frequently uncovered, exacerbating stench and littering.
d. The practice of burning fallen refuse contributes to air pollution.

Given that Tamil Nadu holds the second-highest GSDP in the country, the capital city's current state of civic neglect is unacceptable and necessitates a fundamental overhaul in governance, enforcement, and public behavior.

The standard of cleanliness and civic amenities must be raised to reflect the state's economic standing.
