Bad takes refugee. Had to be there, used to be there, no 'there' there... Lately I find I'm disinclined to reminisce/Except perhaps on such a night as this
too long. too many undercooked ideas. possibly/probably unbalanced by its star; main character is really the girl but she doesn’t show up for 30 minutes and in the last third of the movie she becomes a cold-blooded murderer, which is totally at odds with the spirit of the affair
wanted to like RIVALS OF AMIZAH KING a whole lot more… still think Patterson is one to watch, but he desperately needed a more critical editor: story, shots, scenes, sequence, even audio. terrific production design though
So, there are a lot of problems with Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull but, for me, the biggest is that it 'looks' like it was shot at a theme park.
personally I’ve had it with the America’s Grandpa act. only possible saving grace of a Theo of Golden adaptation is that it won’t be hard to make a better movie of it. sentimental soapbox tripe.

Seth Rogen says his financial fear is dying with $10 million in the bank that he could have spent while he was alive
“I’m afraid I’m going to die with too much money. I don’t have children, and I’m afraid I’m going to die and be like, I could have had a place at the beach”
“I don’t want to die with like $10,000,000 in the bank that I could have spent doing fun, alive things”
“A jet to Paris on a whim? Yeah, exactly. I could have been jetting. I could have been jetting this whole time”
marketing failure: no
idea till today that Lanterns show starts Sunday. no reviews, no promotions seen in weeks.
(no I’m not in its prime demo; considering how much I read and that I’ve watched HBO Max a couple times the past week, still a whiff.)
(—how could I leave off I KNOW WHERE I’M GOING! ? 😮 it’s just that rich a collection)
…due a rewatch of SMALL BACK ROOM and DOWN TO EARTH — though the latter has yet to receive a decent disc
