Studios invest millions in established franchises because they have something that cannot be manufactured overnight: passionate, loyal audiences. Yet too often, the very qualities that earned that loyalty are treated as obstacles instead of strengths.

Stargate already has that audience.

When we heard that an in-canon series was being developed with Martin Gero & other original creatives involved, many of us felt heard. It wasn't about repeating the past—it was about continuing a beloved universe while creating a genuine entry point for new viewers.

That approach has already proven successful by the very writers that were tasked to new show.

Many people discovered Atlantis first, then went back to watch SG-1.

Others started with Universe, then found SG-1 & Atlantis.

Every new series expanded the audience instead of replacing it.

So why should a fourth series be any different?

The value of this franchise isn't sitting in a vault. It exists because fans have spent years watching, rewatching, discussing, creating, & introducing new generations to Stargate. We have kept the gate open because we believe this universe still has stories worth telling.

The demand hasn't disappeared. It has endured.

Over the course of the two-day convention (Shore Leave 46), hundreds of sci-fi fans stopped by the campaign table, took stickers and flyers, and spoke about how much a new Stargate series means to them.

Con-goers applauded the campaign during the Stargate Atlantis panel, and more than 100 fans signed the campaign banner within a few hours Sunday morning. The petition to Save Stargate with Martin Gero added more than 200 new signatures after the weekend event.

David Hewlett (Doctor Rodney McKay) and Rachel Luttrell (Teyla Emmagan) stopped by the fan table for a few photos and signed the campaign banner too!
