ਅਸੀਂ ਪਿਛਲੇ ਲੰਬੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਤੋਂ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਧ ਰਹੀ ਨਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਸਮੱਸਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਚਿੱਟੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਹੋ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਮੌਤਾਂ ਸਬੰਧੀ ਲਗਾਤਾਰ ਕਵਰੇਜ ਕਰਦੇ ਆ ਰਹੇ ਹਾਂ। ਇਸ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਅਸੀਂ ਦਰਜਨਾਂ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਮਾਮਲੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਲਿਆਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਿੰਡਾਂ ਦੇ ਲੋਕ ਖੁਦ ਆਪਣੇ ਇਲਾਕਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਕਾਰਨ ਹੋ ਰਹੇ ਨੁਕਸਾਨ ਬਾਰੇ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ।
ਕੁਝ ਦਿਨ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਲੰਬੀ ਹਲਕੇ ਦੇ ਪਿੰਡ ਖੁੱਡੀਆਂ, ਜੋ ਕਿ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਗੁਰਮੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਖੁੱਡੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਪਿੰਡ ਹੈ, ਦੇ ਕੁਝ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਬੁਲਾ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿੰਡ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਧ ਰਹੀ ਨਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਸਮੱਸਿਆ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਇਸ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਪਿੰਡ ਦੇ ਕੁਝ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਕਥਿਤ ਤੌਰ ’ਤੇ ਨਸ਼ਾ ਵੇਚਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਵਿਅਕਤੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਵੀ ਲਏ ਗਏ। ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਗਈ ਇਸ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਡੇ ਚੈਨਲ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਲੋਕ-ਪੱਖੀ ਪੱਤਰਕਾਰੀ ਤਹਿਤ ਕਵਰ ਕੀਤਾ।
ਹੁਣ ਇੱਕ ਅਜਿਹੀ ਮੌਤ, ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਬਾਰੇ ਕੋਈ ਪੋਸਟਮਾਰਟਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਇਆ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਦੋਸ਼ ਮਨਿੰਦਰਜੀਤ ਸਿੱਧੂ ਦੇ ਸਿਰ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
ਅਸੀਂ ਇਸ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਨੂੰ ਪੱਤਰਕਾਰੀ ਦੀ ਆਜ਼ਾਦੀ ਅਤੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਆਵਾਜ਼ ਨੂੰ ਦਬਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਅਤੇ ਅੱਤ ਦਰਜੇ ਦੀ ਬਦਲਾਖੋਰੀ ਦੀ ਭਾਵਨਾ ਵਜੋਂ ਦੇਖਦੇ ਹਾਂ।
ਮਸਲਾ ਸਾਰੇ ਪੰਜਾਬੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਹੈ। ਫ਼ੈਸਲਾ ਵੀ ਪੰਜਾਬੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਹੀ ਕਰਨਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਸਬੰਧੀ ਵਿਸਥਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਕੱਲ੍ਹ ਸਾਂਝੀ ਕਰਾਂਗੇ।
