Tata Motors’ fall in price was only an adjustment, not an actual loss.
It did not crash. It simply split into two parts:

1️⃣ Passenger Vehicles + JLR (cars, EVs, luxury-driven)
2️⃣ Commercial Vehicles (trucks, buses, cyclical, infra-driven)

The price dropped nearly 40% because the Commercial Vehicle (CV) business was separated into a new company.
That value will return once the new CV company gets listed.

If you sell Tata Motors now, you’re only selling the Passenger Vehicle + JLR part.
You will still receive the CV company shares when they’re listed and credited.

The “loss” you see today may reduce or even turn into a gain once both entities start trading.

Short-term confusion.
Long-term story still strong.
