@AaronMartinka We farm beside a lot of ppl and houses and would never do something like that. Not even to a county road. Turn the spreader down or drop a windrow it’s very easy. I have zero interest in making the general public hate ag anymore than they already do.

@lathemfarms We replaced our fallow masters with rollacones in 2020 have been extremely happy and everything is adjustable. Paint looks great still. They stay in a barn tho. I know you west Texas guys don’t believe in those🤣

Farmer w/ no successor wants to help a young guy get started.

Sell him the land for $8K/acre.
Sell him the equipment on installments.
Keep the farm alive.

But the IRS steps in:
→ $1,200/acre in capital gains tax
→ Full depreciation recapture due immediately

The federal tax code does the opposite of rewarding the farmer for helping the next gen.
