Dorais’ 1916 team went 7-0-1, scoring 64 points, allowing 33 and recording two shutouts. They won the Hawkeye Conference title, were the only undefeated college in Iowa and took home the Western Catholic College title, too. @LorasCollegeFB @lorascollege @LorasAthletics

Dorais befriended Arch Ward, then a student at Dubuque College. The two became lifelong friends. Ward would go onto create the MLB All-Star Game, Golden Gloves amateur boxing tournament, the College Football All-Star Game and the All-American Football Conference. @lorascollege
