A new Los Angeles Times analysis of federal filings found CALIFORNIA donors were the #2 source of Flanagan's primary money, second only to Minnesota itself.
California donors poured $17 MILLION into contested Democratic primaries across the country this year. Nearly $11 million went to progressive candidates like Peggy.
And that's just direct donations. It doesn't count party committees or outside groups.
Speaking of outside groups: Flanagan built her campaign on refusing corporate PAC money. Yet she benefited from nearly $2.5 MILLION in spending by the Democratic Lieutenant Governors Association, a group whose affiliated nonprofit PAC counts CVS, Wells Fargo, Comcast and UnitedHealthcare among its top donors.
She calls it a "people-powered" campaign.
Which people, Peggy? The ones in Minnesota... or the ones in San Francisco? 🤔
