Care workers with @AndreaEganGS taking our message to Westminster: Keep your promises.
This isn’t just about care staff. It’s about everyone who relies on care, every day. #FairVisasNow
Proud of every care worker who spoke out today at the Migrant Worker Day of Action.
Their message to the Government is clear: Keep the 5‑year route to settlement. End employer-sponsored visas. Invest in social care.
Taking care of carers means taking care of everyone.
UNISON Fair Visa National Day of Action has kicked off in the North West with members sharing testimony and commemorating migrant workers who have lost their lives to exploitation in the social care sector #FairVisaCampaign
'Shabana Mahmood's reforms to settled status are an immoral crusade against those who keep our care system running. The government needs to backtrack now'

Yesterday migrant workers stood together against workplace exploitation and the Government’s proposals to extend indefinite leave to remain, and to demand proper investment in our social care system as part of UNISON’s national day of action.
Huge thanks to all involved.
Today, UNISON members are leafleting the Home Secretary's constituency.
We will not accept her cruel and self-defeating proposals to extend indefinite leave to remain.
We need Labour to stop attacking migrant workers and start defending their rights.

Solidarity with members from UNISON West Midlands taking action in Shabana Mahmood's constituency today ✊ Members across the UK will be out pushing for more support on our National Day of Action tomorrow!
Today care workers are visiting @ShabanaMahmood's constituency to explain what changes to earned settlement rules will mean, not just for care staff, but for those who rely on their care every day.
It's time for the Home Secretary to think again.

For too long rogue employers have exploited migrant workers in the care system, subjecting them to low pay, job insecurity and abuse, while holding the threat of deportation over them.
That's why this Friday 24th April, UNISON will be mobilising across the country.

Some of the most committed and hard working NHS workers I have ever met, continuing to give their all on every shift while facing total uncertainty over what the future brings.
Stand with the workers to demand the Trust take the decision to protect them and their jobs !!
Committed HCAs who have worked tirelessly providing care for the community have been left stranded since their pay at band 3 was £63 below the required salary threshold for sponsorship.
The Trust can end this misery and uncertainty.
Migrant worker Healthcare Assistants at @TheCountessNHS came together to meet with the Board of Directors this week, to raise the pressing issue of saving their jobs through sponsorship.
Due to the employer's delay, these workers remain at risk of joblessness...
Some of the stories of these workers are incredible, from playing the piano for elderly patients to winning ‘healthcare of the month’ awards on their ward.
They’re an asset to the Trust, who are risking losing them by not offering sponsorship.
Stand with migrant workers ✊
Our members continuing to secure commitment and support for our demands to reverse the government’s proposals to extend ILR from 5 years 👏 the campaign is growing and their voices are heard louder each day because of our wonderful leaders like Barbara 💜✊
UNISON NW member, Barbara, joined a delegation of migrant worker members from across the UK this week at an urgent MP meeting, alongside GS Andrea Egan, to discuss the need to stop the government’s plans to extend ILR ✊
