Trading for outcome is really dumb.
Whether you win or lose, you’re caught in the same trap… clinging to something outside yourself to feel whole.
You win and suddenly you’re at an equity ATH, two trades from payout, imagining scaling accounts, making $40k months and finally becoming the person you’ve always wanted to be.
You lose and you’re replaying mistakes, obsessing over lost progress, wondering how much longer it’ll take to reach payout. Your day is ruined, your attitude carries into the next session and now you’re trading to make it back.
Same attachment, different emotions.
The problem isn’t experiencing excitement after a win or pain after a loss. That’s natural.
The problem is when you refuse to let those feelings pass because you need them to tell you something about yourself.
We use trading to escape the discomfort within. We chase the high of winning because it makes us feel worthy, validated, secure, and closer to some future life that we believe will finally make us happy.
When we lose, that identity is threatened. The ego begins to panic because the thing we’ve been using to validate ourselves has been taken away.
It’s no different from addiction. You’re chasing a high to feel whole, then experiencing withdrawals when you can’t get it.
The only way out is to realize that the thing you’re desperately trying to find through trading was never missing in the first place.
For anyone who has had a profound experience with God, this becomes easier to understand.
You don’t need to accumulate more money, reach another milestone, or become someone greater to find that missing piece. God isn’t waiting for you at the end of your next payout. You don’t have to earn your way toward feeling whole.
That peace is available to you right now.
But the more you neglect the things that truly nourish your soul, the more you begin looking for fulfillment in things that can never provide it.
Spend time in nature. Sit in the sun. Get a great workout in. Spend quality time with your family, friends, and pets. Go on an adventure. Enjoy a great meal. Be present for the life that is already happening around you.
These aren’t distractions from achieving your goals. They’re reminders that your life is happening NOW, not after you become profitable enough, wealthy enough, or successful enough.
The more disconnected you become from God, the more you look to the material world to fill that void. And the more you look to trading to provide what only a deeper sense of connection can give you, the more attached you become to its outcomes.
Money becomes a false God. You begin worshipping the idea that the next milestone will finally bring you peace.
But even if you reach every trading goal you’ve ever set, you’ll eventually find yourself in this exact same predicament, just at a larger scale.
More money. Bigger accounts. Larger payouts. The same mind, the same attachments, the same suffering.
The 4 Noble Truths of Buddhism explain this beautifully:
https://t.co/u1KP0xRkoN involves suffering.
2.Attachment and craving are at the root of that suffering.
3.Freedom comes from letting go of that attachment.
4.There is a path you can practice to bring that suffering to an end.
Winning isn’t the problem. Losing isn’t the problem. It’s what the mind does with either one.
Let go of the need for either outcome to make you feel like you’re enough.
Return to God. Return to the present. Return to the simple things that make life worth living.
So when it comes to trading… Be prepared. Know your strategy. Execute. Accept the outcome. Move on.
That’s it.
Trading is simple. We complicate it because we’re asking it to do something it was never meant to do: save us from ourselves.
Stop looking for God in your PnL.
