@andyps1275 @TragedyCalls @OUFC4EVER actually, thay arent. Issue is that the cost of the IC powertrains is staying (sort of) the same. EV powertrain costs are falling as the supply chains ramp up and demand is rising & no one is investing in, updating or building new IC engine plants as demand for them is falling.

@thinkdefence Nice idea but I'd reckon its quite a bit more than half a million once you consider the custom armoured cab, remote weapon station, armoured/auto-inflate tyres, self-defence kit, hardened connection lines, full military comms...& the rear section has to be battle hardened too.

@ListerLawrence My cynical (and probably correct) view is that they foolishly showed it to the Jaguar owners club and asked them what they thought of it. The Octogenarian owners response would have been "What? A Jaguar estate? NEVER!" so they decided to wait about 20 years until trying again.

@Mike_M_Klotz Jaguar in the US is (was?) a very strong brand but Nascar is the polar opposite if what it represented. Poor reliability (both perceived and actual) & customer service were key to the brands downfall. Lexus are a good counterpoint to how to run a premium/luxury brand in the US

@Pierce1Roger @RantyHighwayman Actually it means "no vehicles", so thats all motor vehicles as well buses, delivery vans and bicycles. Pedestrians (and indeed wheelchairs, pushchairs etc) aren't vehicles so it doesn't apply to them.

@Mike_M_Klotz Amazing brand, great history, some wonderful products but a vague/confusing marketing (F1???) poor product strategy and weak management meaning some highly dubious cars reached production and rapidly failed in market (E-Pace, XE etc). Market switch to EV's left company v. exposed

Pyrotechnic pre-tensioners and airbags work a lot faster and in a lot more situations other than full frontal impacts and don't require physical tension cable runs.
