@NickBabaya @trevorbishai The current system does not reward hard work. If this were true, there are a million single moms who would have more wealth than Jeff Bezos. The system of wealth hoarding and exploitation has lead to mankind's worst atrocities
@NickBabaya @trevorbishai Personally I don't because I honestly enjoy having a home and running water and I understand that labor is a prerequisite for that I would just prefer a system where everyone is not alienated from their labor
@NickBabaya See my other tweet about Fuedalism. You would have to ask me more specific questions about how I would want those things structured but I would prefer a libertarian socialist model over capitalism
@NickBabaya I mean ever since the ending of Fuedalism there has been greater prosperity, does that mean we should have just accepted 17th century English economics as the best we can do? Having more people not in poverty since the fall of the Berlin wall is not an argument for capitalism
@NickBabaya I dont think addressing the actions of business in the name of acquiring capital is sophistry. It's central to any discussion of capitalism. If this system produces countless examples of environmental poisoning, terrorism and violation of state sovereignty, that concern is valid
@NickBabaya Also you know I am not suggesting printing a million rand will lift someone out of poverty as all poverty models account for relative wealth. There is just fundamentally no way you can justify capitalism as a sustainable system (socially, environmentally, economically)
@NickBabaya I was saying the definition of poverty is determined by currency as it is an invented concept, saying it is the original state of humanity is just wrong
But that's a bit superfluous of me I guess, my main point is capitalism is far from the best system we could organise under
I've literally had 2 people try and cut in front of me at the store by standing on top of me me and hoping I'll be the one to keep a meter distance. People out here are fine with getting and giving the virus if they can get to the shops 2 minutes faster
@mumjaara I think their music as a whole has gotten more interesting but the amount of bangers per album has gone downhill. That being said I can't bring myself to listen to an Ameer solo project it just doesn't sound appealing to me idk
