We love opponents who hit off their back foot. RT @LukeKerrDineen: Devers’ home run from below the strike zone last night gives it a real golfy look.
Pretty fascinating all the similarities.
Really excellent obit. Dale was a regular guy and so helpful to the younger me. RT @AdamSchupak: #RIP Dale Douglass. “No one ever had a bad word to say about him.” That and more good stories from Hale Irwin here: https://t.co/1t66nMwwtL
Johnny Miller said, “He’s been winning almost every tournament in his age group, so there’s not much to say except for ‘nice going.'”
@wesleyabc4 has more on World Golf Hall of Famer Johnny Miller as a caddie for his grandson, Nicklaus.

@the_fried_egg Ron Whitten in I think 1985 did a brilliant piece for GD on whether Hogan actually said, “I’m glad I brought this course, this monster, to its knees.” He failed to find any evidence for it. Very similar to Ruth’s called-shot homer—good tale, but apocryphal.
@mbossch14 @jakebrend32 Problem is that outcome of a 5-footer could result in a three- or four-stroke swing. Penalty is disproportionate. It ruins integrity of the competition.
@GaryVanSickle@robmillertime@NYRfan46 “You couldn’t hack it as a lawyer. You were a bagman for the boys downtown, and you still are. I know about you.”
