Excited to have started my postdoc with @psalmotoxin, working on mole rat research! Got a really warm welcome from the team 😄🙌
Wrapped up the first week with some lab punting on Friday—strong start!
We are recruiting a PhD student on polygenic adaptation!
Combining GWAS and experimental evolution in a selection experiment w/ a unique design await you! If you have experience in population genetics, quantitative genetics, please apply! https://t.co/DS1x6yCd6V
GEOMAR is hiring! We are seeking to fill a full professorship position with focus on interactions in marine pelagic ecosystems. More infos below. Please RT
Arrived in Edinburgh attending @MicrobioSoc#Microbio24.
I will present at Genetics & Genomics Forum on Thursday morning sharing how bacteria population evolve to change their tRNA gene set and get stable.
Looking forward to see you at the conference 😀
I will be at #FEMS2023@FEMSmicro in Hamburg next week.
I will give a flash presentation of our proj @gallie_jenna about a mechanism for bacteria to gain a new tRNA gene copy. Plz come and discuss with me if you are interested to know how tRNA gene sets can evolve (1630, Hall Y1)
Meet Archireef, the climate tech startup founded by PhD student Vriko Yu and Dr David Baker from @HKUSBS.They operate on a subscription model and provide ecological impact reports to clients. Profitable and expanding, Archireef protects coral reefs and fights climate change.
Thank you to everyone for joining us at #MicroEvo22 and making it a success! We look forward to seeing you at our other events! https://t.co/3NuVp4aCWi
At the #MicroEvo22,
I shared my PhD work under the supervision of @gallie_jenna and collaborating with @EvolTheoArne and @FlorenceBansept on the evolutionary fate of the unstable large duplication in SBW25.
In short, we found smaller duplication and alternative mutations arose.
Together with @DeepaAgashe, @Parthkr21 and my PhD supervisor @gallie_jenna, very happy to have this preprint on the fitness costs and benefits of translational redundancy in E. coli.
