@HMRCcustomers Not an ideal solution, the claim form doesn’t allow any area of free text to explain the situation. In addition the refund is paid by cheque, no option for bank transfer!! Not ideal if the recipient is away from home for extended periods of time.
@HMRCcustomers how do I resolve an issue where tax has been taken from a pension draw down prior to me receiving the funds? I thought I’d declare the drawdown on my annual tax return and pay any applicable tax at that time.
@HMRCcustomers I drew down an amount from my personal pension, the amount I received in my bank account was 40% less. The company I use for the pension said they have to pay the tax direct to HMRC before I recieve the funds. I received the net amount. I get the state pension no other income.
@HMRCcustomers do I need to complete a Confirmation Statement if my company is in the process of being Dissolved? The notice has already been published in the Gazette.
@British_Airways when will your website be fixed so people can check reward flight availability?
Also, how do you change your password in the ‘new improved’ website? There’s no obvious ability to do so!
@British_Airways I tried to book a holiday yesterday, first the system crashed me out on the payment page, I then rang and booked it with a representative but he said it crashed as well and he’d get back to me. Still not had a response!!
@HMRCcustomers Where (which boxes) do I enter:
1. Carried forward losses from a previous year.
2. Losses incurred in the tax year I am completing the return for.
3. Losses not used in the tax year I am completing return for which I want to carry forward into the next tax year.
@HMRCcustomers if I need to declare a capital gain on a property I sold can I offset a CGT loss from shares I sold against the property CGT?
Also can I similarly offset CGT losses on shares that my spouse incurred against my capital gain on the property?
Thank you.
@HMRCcustomers Thank you Nancy, one final clarification, is ‘interest on bank deposits’ considered to be a ‘capital gain’ and therefore included in the CGT page of the tax return?
@British_Airways to save people a lot of time entering all their details for bookings only for the website to return an error message can you please post an update when the site is back up and running? Your staff seem as frustrated with your systems as the general public!!!
