Dear @Delta we’re now over 4 hours delayed on Flight 262 JFK >CDG and now that we’re back on the plane and ready to go you won’t give us a ground crew to push back. You’re usually better than this Delta.
From Isolation to Connection: There has been a significant decline since 2015 in the percentage of pastors receiving personal spiritual support from peers or a mentor, with those receiving support several times a month or more often dropping from 37% to 19% in 2023. (Barna).
I am so excited for Spring 2025 Covo Con with my man @guywasko
Here are some of the topics we will hit:
How can pastors attend and serve a church when they are not the one leading it?
Planting and pastoring churches in hard to reach places like New York City (Guy planted and pastored in the East Village of lower Manhattan, I planted and pastored in the South Bronx, Go Yankees).
When is it time to “let go” in ministry and when is it time to “fight through” and how do you identify the differences?
How do you “start over” professionally when your whole career and professional identity was built around pastoral ministry?
What are we learning (and unlearning) about calling, ministry, vocation as we explore life on the other side of the lead pastor seat.

@erichoke False equivalent. What if you did the right conference one year and a coach the next. A coaching relationship isn’t intended to be forever. Find a rhythm that works for you.
@erichoke Hot Take: the conference space can be uniquely relational if you want it to be. It can be a family reunion. It can be a relationship expanding opportunity different from the virtual expression and definitely better than an email. If you don’t show up, you can miss out.
As 2024 comes to a close and the year’s best books lists start flowing, I’d like to confess that I bought more books than I read. Pretty sure one of those numbers is around 10. I’ll let you decide which is which.
