With some senate appointments made today... at least one of them knows what its like to be on a ballot. Can we admit as a nation that reform in the upper house is needed? Alberta has led the conversation on this for decades (even going as far as to elect senators), 40 years ago it was part of the national constitutional conversation, and the Liberals over the last decade have made this historically significant deliberative body more dysfunctional than ever.
Not the statement we might have unexpected...
"The Port of Vancouver has not been involved in discussions regarding the pipeline route proposed by the Alberta government in its submission to the Major Projects Office. We are reviewing the proposal and will take the time to understand its potential conceptual implications and next steps with respect to the Government of Canada’s review process."

Opportunity that will determine our future. Prosperity that will be felt all across our country. Unity that will endure.
That’s how we’re building a stronger Alberta and a stronger Canada for all.
It's a huge day for BC, Canada and Alberta.
Southern route likely.
Carney threads the needle, protecting the north coast from oil tankers, satisfies Alberta's want of another pipeline to the coast and respecting the law and obligations to First Nations.

Dismayed to see councillors Bligh & Fry vote against ❌extending the hugely successful Granville Pedestrian Zone until the end of summer. This is one of the city’s best placemaking initiatives in recent memory. Thank you @downtownvan for your efforts! #vanpoli
Pleased to get support of Councillors today, as @ParkBoard drops legal opinion, demands Mayor stop making statements about potential new swimming pools and community centres not authorized by Commissioners.
Chronically unable to reach past the pinched, partisan take. If PP feels renovation of 24 Sussex is such an insult, let him haul ass out of Stornoway tomorrow. Carney has pulled a page from Pearson and the flag design competition of the 60s. In time, it will be celebrated.
We’re restoring 24 Sussex Drive to a standard worthy of the country it serves.
Today, the property sits empty and in critical condition. We’re launching a design-and-build competition to find the best of Canadian talent and expertise — to protect this national landmark, put it back in service, and ensure we leave it better than we found it.
This is just madness! Infuriating. Shame on you @ParkBoard - holding this iconic community, amenity hostage, should be illegal open. The. Pool. #FREEKITSPOOL
Another example of the white is right crowd.
Canadians winning on home soil should be celebrated but for some, any color other than white isn't good enough.
We said building housing needs to be easier, faster, and less expensive.
Vancouver has already reduced costs, cut red tape, and streamlined approvals. Today’s $5B Canada–BC partnership puts more support behind that work.
We’re ready to deliver more homes, faster.
